This week in my corner of Quebec, children are on vacation. I took the opportunity to take some days off too ... It's good, because they are tired ... and we also ...
And traditionally, the week off, the farm Circle of St. Basil , including myself for quite some years now organizes activities for children and grandchildren of members ...
So here, in photos, Alexis had the opportunity to perform on Monday and Tuesday thanks to the volunteer quilters who not only organized, but prepared in detail these beautiful projects.

Monday morning to begin, each child has made a beautiful stuffed duck. All pieces were precut. The children were sewing the wings and nose by hand, then move on to the machine with the help of an adult for the rest. Then he returned to his work and put the wad. We do not see well because he has opted for a brown embroidery thread, but Alexis has not taken the easy : He sewed his wings and beak point festoon. (It means he is only 8 years old ...) In short, I left her sewing machine lengths straight but I sewed myself curves .. .
Like last year, Claudette has shared its entire stock of scrapbooking with children. The activity is still popular ... Alexis had of course chosen as Praline on its front page this year!
Tuesday we started the day with embroidered cards. Again, maps were prepared, ie that small holes were made ... Helen has explained to children how to embroider (two forward, one back: 0)) and it was gone! Again was a winning ...
In the afternoon, everyone has crafted a puppet felt that given by Dorina were precut over 20 by itself! What a job ... There were mice, monkeys, owls, pandas, rabbits ... Alexis chose a cute little dog ... and I asked the owners to rebuild. Here, for simplicity, the children should just stick the various features of their puppet.
And to finish off, we began to prepare for Easter with Mr. and Mrs. Rabbit ... Some elements of felt glued to a styrofoam cup.
And all good children have been filling their cup of chocolate at the end of the workshops!
So what I held my first two days ... and evenings much needed rest, while yesterday, Alexis went skiing with his dad. It is true that we enjoy the last weeks of snow ... and we have the Mont St-Bruno next door, which offers few opportunities for downhill skiing. But I prefer the racket!
